·         For language arts each student will be purchasing a vocabulary workbook at the beginning of school.  I will send a note with details the first day of school.  It will cost about $15.00.

·         Students will be loaned a high school level Writer’s Handbook called Writer’s Inc.  I highly recommend this book, and you may purchase one for your child to keep for $23.00.

·         We will be reading a novel that will help us understand A Midsummer Night’s Dream that your child will purchase.  It is $3.00.

·         We will have a Pirate Team Parent/Teacher Meeting the second week of school one night from 6:30-8:00 in the auditorium to go over our Pirate Team Handbook and to answer any questions you may have.  We sincerely hope that each family can be represented at this meeting.

·         This year we will have homework posted on our team website www.freewebs.com/carnagepirates for all four core classes.  The planner the PTSA gives the students should have the most accurate assignments written in it.  Sometimes homework posted for a certain night may be delayed a day because of circumstances.  We post our homework in each class on the board.

·         Students are to cover all books.

·         We will send home the Pirate’s Handbook.  We want you and your child to be familiar with our expectations and rules so there are no surprises.  Please go over this the first week of school and complete the data sheet and turn in by Friday, August 29.
