  • Open House

    Open House will be on Tuesday, September 16th from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. Parents, this is an opportunity for you to follow your child's schedule and experience a "day in the life" of your child in middle school.

  • 6th Grade Rocks !

    The 6th Grade Academy was a huge success.  Students learned about PBIS school expectations, lockers,  tours, lunch and much more.  Parents who were not able to attend may view the newsletter and powerpoint presentation listed under announcements.

  • Carnage MSEN Students Earn Gold,Silver, & Bronze Medals at NC-MSEN Day

     Gold Medals(1st Place) - 6th grade Math, 6th grade Science, 8th Grade Science, & Picture This; Silver  (2nd Place) Oratorical, Engineer and Design(Straw Tower), Parachute Egg Drop, & Robotics; Bronze (3rd Place) - CCMath 8, CC1, 6th, 7th, 8th grade Science.
  • Congratulations State Math Contest Students

    Team Awards. Level I (Alg I) - Second place, Level II ( CC 2, CC3, & Alg. 2) - Second place , Comprehensive ( Precalculus or higher math) - Fourth place
    Individual Awards These students will be going to the Final State Math Contest next month.
    Level I 1st place - Jerry Zhoa, 6th place - Jackie Chen, 7th place - Kartik Tyagi Level II 9th place - Alex Lewis, 12th place - Andrew Li, 13th place - George Chen
  • 2014 NC State Mathcounts Champions Again !

    Our team, who was considered underdogs this year, really came through and won by .75 of a point defeating Smith Middle School, who earned 2nd place.   Out of 166 state qualifying mathletes, Emily Wen earned 3rd place,d Nina Prabhu came in 9th, Jerry Zhao was 11th, Andrew Li, 20th, and Alex Xiong finished 47th.  Emily Wen will be one of four students who will represent NC in the National MATHCOUNTS' Tournament in Orlando, FLA in May.
  • Carnage ranks 1st in MSEN Mini-Runoff at NCSU

    We competed against MSEN teams within Wake County to include Ligon, E. Millbrook, N. Garner, Centennial, & W. Millbrook .  Our CMS students arrived  ready to compete and win...we did just that! Our  students placed 1st or 2nd in all 8 events.  We ranked 1st & Ligon 2nd. Our first place teams will advance to the  State Competition on 4/12/14 along with our academic competition teams. We will compete against 5 NC Universities.

  • Scholastic Art & Writing Award

    Congratulations to Maia Sichitiu for being honored with the Gold Key Award .  More than 255,000 works were submitted and only the top 40% received recognition.  Maia submitted work in the Science Fiction / Fantasy category.  Thank you for your creative passion Maia.

  • Eighth grade Honors Chorus members earn near perfect score!!

    Sarah Lapinskes, Ragan Sandy, Nyla Smith, Lacy Wilder and Katie Williard, all members of our Honors Chorus performed at East Carolina University last Saturday, March 1, for the NCMEA Performance Assessment.  The quintet was awarded a 98 out of a possible 100 score, garnering a Superior rating. Congratulations!
  • Carnage Students Win 2nd & 3rd Place at Central Regional Science Fair.

    Congratulations to Arun Sarma who won 2nd place in Junior Chemistry and to Siddhartha Das who placed 3rd in the Middle School Earth and Environmental category and won a $50 cash award from the American Water Works Association at the Central Regional Science Fair.   Arun will advance to the State Science Fair.

  • Battle of the Books "Team FRED" Wins 2nd Place in Wake County !

    We conquered Apex Middle who has won 3 years in a row, went on to the tie breaker with Dillard Drive and scored 15-17 winning 2nd place. Congratulations Taha Bokari, Vineeth Maineedi, Caroline Wang, Karin Kartawira, Mindy Ji, Sami Overton, Sunny Deshwal.

  • Congratulations Science Olympiad

    Congratulations to the Varsity and Jr. Varsity Science Olympiad Teams.  Both won first place!!!

  • Symphonic Band Performance

    The Symphonic Band performed for the NC  Music Educator's Conference on 11/10/13.  Music educators from across the state were treated to the band's 40 minute performance that included works by Percy Grainger, David Gillingham, Michael Sweeney, Timothy Broege and Nathan Daughtrey, who was also the band's guest conductor.  The  Band performed with musical maturity and is to be commended for a stellar performance.

The Magnet Fair will be November 1st from 9 am to 12 pm at Southeast Raleigh High School.  Please use this opportunity to see what Magnet Schools have to offer.

MATHCOUNTS Tryouts will be Thursday, 9/18/14 from 2:30 to 4:30 pm in the cafeteria.  Students must bring two #2 sharpened pencils.  No calculators allowed.  Please email achapoton-genna@wcpss.net for more details.

Students will bring home a Go Play Save Coupon book and instructions on 9/10/14.  Please support our school by purchasing a book for $30 and sale to your family, friends, and co-workers.  The school (PTSA) will receive $15 for each book sold.  The coupon book offers great Buy One Get One Free offers to area restaurants, retail locations, and entertainment venues.

Students who remain after-school for athletics, arts or clubs may ride the WCPSS Activity bus home. The bus will depart Carnage Middle School at 4:45 PM in the afternoon.

School bus route information will be posted to the WCPSS website, www.wcpss.net/routes,  on Monday, August 18, 2014.  You may check to see which bus route your child has been assigned.  If your child has not been assigned a bus, you may go to www.wcpss.net/busrider to request service.  If you need additional assistance, you may go to www.wcpss.net/transportation for all other customer service requests.  If you do not have access to the Internet, you may contact the transportation department at 919-805-3030.
 
We will also have a transportation department representative at our Open Houses on August 20 and August 21 from 12 noon until 3 pm if you need additional assistance.  You will also have access to the Internet at that time to check your routes.
